The dance steps become the lyrics to the music, all graceful and elegant and yet saying a variety of things. The expressions, the unheard voice, engaging in a silent conversation with all present. The exaggerated smile, the pointed feet and the spot. It is as much about the beauty of flair as about the soundness of technicality. The performers, it will always seem, have let go of themselves, but they never do fortunately for the audiences, they surely can.
Rules and Regulations
1. Competition is open only to college students. All the team members must carry the Identity Cards of their college. A team member not carrying his/her I- Card will not be allowed to participate & if any team member is found to be from outside the college, the team shall be disqualified.
2. The event is scheduled on Day 1 of Moksha’09 at 5:30 pm on the Main Stage. The preliminary Round will be held on the same day at 11:00 am.
3. The maximum number of participants allowed per team is 20. The number is inclusive of choreographers, Lights men or any other helpers accompanying the team. The minimum number of performing members in a team is 10.
4. Every team will be given a time slot of 15 minutes (performance time). Points will be cut if the time limit is exceeded or if the performance time is less than 8 minutes.
5. The teams are responsible for their own music. Teams are instructed to get at least 2 CD’s and 1 audio cassette for their Music requirements. The music should be in mp3 format.
6. Props in any form are not allowed on the stage and on the ramp.
7. The music should be purely instrumental. Marks will be deducted for use of lyrics.
8. The decision of the judges will be final and binding for all.
Prizes
The winner team gets a cash prize of 15,000 and the first runner up gets a cash prize of 10,000.
